What is Roller Hockey?
Roller hockey is very similar to ice hockey, but there are a few differences in the rules. There are 4 players and a goalie on the court at even strength, the rink is typically smaller than an ice hockey rink, the puck is plastic and half the weight of an ice hockey puck, and there is no offsides or icing. Most of our players grew up playing ice hockey and switched to roller hockey in college – the transition is easy. If you want to see games from last year’s national tournament to get a better idea, visit ncrha.tv and search for RIT.
